Introduced to electronic music at the age of 14, Shawn Michael has had a long love affair with dance music. At first being a casual listener of trance, specifically late 1990’s, early 2000 style trance, the genre soon became his favorite style of music. As time progressed his tastes began to depart from trance and head towards house and its subgenres, this is where the love and appreciation for house music really started setting in. He was amazed at the way house music could evoked feelings and connect with the soul at such an intimate level. “House music…It’s a wonderful form of music, it contains so much soul and emotion. House music is something that you feel throughout your body, not just a listening experience” says Shawn Michael. After a few more years of being an avid fan of house music and house mixes Shawn decided to take the jump into the world of DJ’ing. Shawn Michael specializes in Tech House and Deep House with some occasional Progressive House added to the mix. Rather than trying to be extreamly diverse and encompassing many genres and sub-genres, He focuses all his energy on the techy and deep side of house. His mixes tend to follow a bell curve with their energy levels, gradually building energy and tempo until the peak is achieved, then tapering back down to ease the listener out of the journey.
